If governments, media and other such people who are always banging on about climate change and the environment truly cared, they would look into our society's insane overuse of diapers.
In my view, disposables are the worst, but cloth also require water use. Here are some key issues I feel need to be looked into for the purpose of curbing the use of these things.
First, it used to be the average age for a child to become toilet trained was 18 months. Now, according to numerous statistics, average potty training age has gone up to two and a half, and keep in mind, I said average.
How come there are so many children being born these days with autism and other physical, developmental and cognitive disabilities which can mean the child toilet trains much later or not at all?
Why are their so many women who have incontinence problems which then involve the use of products for that age group you see advertised on television?
What's with so many people having irritable bowel syndrome and similar issues which may, in some cases, result in the use of diapers?
What about all these old people who have all these problems with incontinence for various reasons, including the increase of Alzheimer's, dementia and other problems that effect awareness or the bladder and brain's ability to communicate?
